Check out this pewee hockey fight. It's pretty cute until mom breaks it up. I love it when he throws his gloves off!

Weekend Car Shows and a Wedding

I had a busy weekend of car shows this past weekend. Friday night I went to the Lake Festival Car show in Celina. It was not as large as I thought it was going to be but it was still pretty good. I had to take the picture below for my sister in law Julie because she has some weird obsession with El Camino's. It has to be orange though. I guess I shouldn't judge because I have an obsession with blue mustangs...

Saturday I went to a "St. Henry" wedding. I had to stick my nose in the air a little to fit in with all the snobs. They reminded me of Robert Patterson the guy from the Twilight movies with the cool hair. Yes,I've seen the movies.. don't judge me. Below is a picture of him. I promise this was not altered, he was definitely wearing that shirt.

The wedding was a really good time though. I didn't know many people there but I had fun with the person I went with. The wedding also had cupcakes, ice cream and captain and coke on tap. You can't beat that!

Sunday I convinced Nic to go to an all Mustang car show in Lima with me. He had to wear his damn Mopar shirt though! I fell in love with several cars there

1970 Mustang Mach 1

1965 Mustang Fastback

1965ish Mustang GT 350

After Nic and I got back from the car show we had a double date with Aaron and Jason to Pizza Hut. For some reason Jason covered his face with the menu so he wouldn't be in the picture with Nic. I can't understand why?

On Monday I visited my niece and nephew. Leah being the girly girl she is had to go change into a dress. She's pretty cute!

Jase made sure I took a picture of him too, it took about three tries because he cant' sit still long enough for a picture.

After the pictures they had to show me how they can jump off their toy picnic table onto the couch, again and again and again and again...and so on. I was getting ready to leave and they threw a fit because they didn't want me to go. It made me feel really special but then their mom came home and they forgot all about me! I can't compete with mom but I can still work on being the favorite uncle!!

U Can't Touch This

I wasn't going to post this video because it is a little embarrassing for Nic, Aaron and Iggy but Iggy doesn't care and wanted me to post it. It's a video of them dancing while MC Hammer was singing U Can't Touch This.

and who said white people can't dance?

Summer weekends

This weekend was another great summer weekend. As I predicted Friday night at the Reds game was a lot of fun.

We weren't even there for 1/2 hour and we were already on the big screen. Aaron was at the end of the row so he was picked for a trivia question. The guy asking the question was dressed in gold parachute pants for MC Hammer night. Below is a picture right before Aaron was asked the trivia question.

Aaron on the billboard during the game

Below is a picture of Nic and Iggy a little later in the game. I think they were having fun.

About 45 minutes after the game MC Hammer performed. He performed about three or four songs before the fireworks and then one song during the fireworks.

The fireworks went on for about 20 minutes. It was probably the best fireworks show I have ever seen.

MC performed one song during the firework right before the big finally. It was actually a pretty good show.

I didn't know most of the songs he sang but as soon as he started singing U Can't Touch This the crowd went wild and everyone started dancing. I have a pretty embarrassing video of us guys but I think I'll just file that one away for a rainy day!

After the game we went to a couple bars on the levy. Nic was kind enough to get us a personal escort out of the first bar but it was all in good fun... well for us at least!

Saturday I had a great dinner at the Versailles Inn thanks to Joe and Julie. Afterwords Joe found the second love of his life! See below

Sunday was a great time too but enough about that...

Oh and If my brother mentions anything about having to jump start my Mustang, its not true. Even if it was true there is no proof!!

It's Hammer Time!

Tomorrow night MC Hammer is going to be performing at Great American Ballpark before and after the Reds game. It's a tribute to the 1990 Reds team who's unofficial theme song was "U Can't Touch This". Several players from that team will also be honored throughout the game.

Aaron received four tickets from his employer so him, Nic, Iggy and myself are going to the game and spending the night in Newport. I can't wait to see how many people are dressed in parachute pants!

Another GREAT weekend!

I was going into the past weekend without any big plans. I figured it would a nice weekend to relax after having such a busy and long weekend on the fourth. It started out that way Friday night. Nic and myself sat around a campfire at Brunsy's place. A few people stopped in but it was a pretty relaxing night.

Saturday Night I went to truck pulls at Eldora. My brother arraigned a group of people to go and Julie(prego!) kindly drove us. I didn't know what to expect going to the truck pulls but I knew it would be interesting. It was a good time, especially betting Nic on each pull! He is very good at not picking the winner. Below are some pictures of the pulls

After the pulls we stopped at a couple bars on the way home. We ran into a bachelorette party at BG's in North Star. It didn't take very long before the bride to be was on Nic's shoulders. I'm not even sure why but I think it had something to do with her checklist that she had to complete. The picture didn't turn out too good but it's below.

My mom and dad had Joe and Julie's kids over night and since Julie was driving us we all spent the night at their house. Below is a picture of Nic in the morning. He slept in my nieces "Dora the Explorer" bed. I'm sure the next time I go to his house he will have the same sheets...Luckly Leah didn't see Nic in her bed because she would have been mad! She won't even let her dad take a nap in her bed!

Kevin and Shari got a new boat so Sunday we had to take that out for it's first test run. Kevin, Chops, Brady and myself went to lake Salamonie in Indiana. I didn't have much sleep the night before so it was a REALLY REALLY LONG day for me but it was fun getting on the water. Below is a picture of their new boat

Chops wakeboarding

The last pictures are of our little tubing machine. I think she spent more time behind the boat than the rest of us! I think it had something to do with her being 5 years old and really cute!! She was all smiles but she was wore out on the way home!

Fourth of July Weekend

I didn't do anything too exciting this weekend. There were plenty of party's and cookouts to go to. I definitely went to my share of them and I'm almost glad for the weekend to be over because it wore me out.

Sunday I went to the St. Henry car show with Bozo and Dan. Below is a picture of our cars at the show. They both won plaques but I didn't. (mine is about 30 years too new!)

The only other thing I have to write about is that I sold my Grand Prix to my brother. what a sucker!!! Just kidding, it will actually be a really good car for him to drive to work instead of his truck.

until next time

Lake Cumberland

Sorry for the delay in publishing a post about the trip to Cumberland. I have been busy playing catch up at work.

The trip was a great time. It was HOT and sunny all weekend. Luckily we had plenty of water to keep us cool!

Below is a picture as we were driving the houseboats out to the cove. If you look closely Nic is about to give everyone an unpleasant surprise. (orange shirt)

This is where our houseboats were docked in a cove. It was a great location. We pretty much had the entire cove to ourselves all weekend. It was great water to ski and wakeboard on.

Below is a picture of Minor's boat looking all bad ass!!

Cody's boat coming back to the houseboats after some wakeboarding

Of course a trip to Cumberland isn't complete unless a couple hundred waterballons are launched of the top of the houseboats at people in the water. Iggy, Dart and Chops about lost their heads to a water balloon a couple times.

The Brunswick kids doing what they do best.. looking cute and being ornery.

A bunch of us swimming in the water behind the houseboats in the cove. The water was great. If the water was any warmer it would almost be too hot.

We decided to pull two wakeboards behind Minors boat. Some kids were doing last year looking all bad ass so we had to give it a try. Of course they were jumping wakes about 8 feet in the air. We are not quit there yet.

I'm on the left and Chops is on the right.

I had the longer rope so I would lift it up and Chops would go underneath it. By the end of summer we will be pros!

The two pictures below are at Harman creek. This is the party cove. People come here to show off their boats, float around and drink, and also people watch. It gets pretty interesting as the day goes on!

Myself wakeboarding

Minor Wakeboarding

This was a typical night. At the end of the night we all pretty much ended up on top of the houseboat sitting in the hot tub or drinking at the bar.

The last night Nic, Jason and myself put on a fireworks show for everybody. Some fireworks bought out of a trailer at a Wendy's parking lot and a few "emergency" flares from the houseboat made one hell of show.

I already miss it and can't wait until next time!
